چکیده

All-fiber multiwavelength lasers have attracted much interest recently because of their potential applications in wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) communications, microwave generation, highresolution spectroscopy, fiber optic sensing, etc. This paper is devoted to these lasers and several of their aspects, as the laser design, the output power fluctuations, or different kinds of lasers, have been shown. Key-Words: fiber amplifier, fiber laser, fiber Bragg grating, laser cavity,

Laser-based Non-destructive Evaluation

John S. Popovics Summary Lasers are devices that create a high intensity, directed light beam. The light beam can travel in air or through fiber optic cables. Lasers can be used to generate waves and detect stretching or motion in a solid material without direct contact with the material. Thus lasers are useful in many important engineering applications that require remote non-destructive evalu...

Tapered Optical Fiber Coated with ZnO Nanorods for Detection of Ethanol Concentration in Water

This work presents ZnO nanorods coated multimode optical fiber sensing behavior in response to ethanol solution. The sensor operates based on modulation of light intensity which arises from manipulation of light interaction with the ambient environment in sensing region. For this purpose, two steps are experimentally applied here; etching and then coating fiber with ZnO nanorods to provide stro...

Fiber Sensor Systems Based on Fiber Laser and Microwave Photonic Technologies

Fiber-optic sensors, especially fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors are very attractive due to their numerous advantages over traditional sensors, such as light weight, high sensitivity, cost-effectiveness, immunity to electromagnetic interference, ease of multiplexing and so on. Therefore, fiber-optic sensors have been intensively studied during the last several decades. Nowadays, with the devel...

Multi-wavelength Fiber Laser With Erbium Doped Zirconia Fiber and Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

Multi-wavelength hybrid fiber lasers are demonstrated in both ring and linear cavities using a fabricated Erbium-doped Zirconia fiber (EDZF) and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) as gain media. In both configurations, the a fiber loop mirror, which is constructed using a 3 m long polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) and a polarization–insensitive 3dB coupler is used as a comb filter for the...
